Sign in at the front office each time that you come to volunteer. You must have a picture I.D. when you come to volunteer. The front office staff will give you a badge or pass to be on campus. Remember, other classes might be expecting volunteers on the same day and time so please plan on arriving a few minutes early to allow yourself  enough time to take care of the checking in procedures. 
 

Volunteers need to stay with their group working on the assigned activity. Please refrain from going over to your child's group to see  what he/she is doing. 
 

If a child needs to use the bathroom or drink water during the time you are working with him/her please allow them to go. Children are not allowed to leave the room for any reason without my approval even  if it is with their parent.
 

If you are having difficulty with a particular student's behavior or lack of participation in the activity please notify me right away so that I may address the problem with the child privately.
 

If you have finished the assigned activity, please have the children remain in your group. You may discuss the activity with the children. Ask them open ended questions such as: What did you enjoy about the activity? What did you learn? etc.
 

Share with your child that you will be volunteering on the specific day and that as soon as the activity is over that you will be leaving and picking him/her up following the usual dismissal plan.
 

Siblings are not permitted to be in the classroom.
